Saturday March 17 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Coco Martin signed a contract to do a movie for Regal Entertainment. The movie would have him pairing up with GMA 7 Primetime Queen Marian Rivera. Also present during the contract signing were Marian, her manager Popoy Caritativo, Coco’s manager Biboy Arboleda, and the mother and daughter of Regal, Lily and Roselle Monteverde.
It was an atmosphere of excitement and uneasiness for the two stars. Both of them come from rival networks,ABS CBN and GMA 7. Their tv series are also paired against each other on the same time slot, “My Beloved” ofMarian Rivera and “Walang Hanggan“ for Coco Martin. Yet they intend to prove to everyone that despite this, their team-up will have very beautiful and productive results. The director for their film will be Maryo J. de los Reyes.
Lily Monteverde expressed her admiration for Coco Martin and her excitement for the upcoming movie project of the two.
“I really love Coco Martin, he’s a really great actor!”
“I’m so excited about their movie. I’m very willing to spend a lot for this, for I don’t know when will ABS CBN again permit me to star Coco Martin in a movie for Regal.”
